After making her acting debut with the super hit Dabangg , the gorgeous Sonakshi Sinha is on a roll with plum projects and several endorsements in her kitty. She talks about family, films and more in an interview.

Earlier, you were known as Shatrughan Sinha's daughter but after “Dabangg” you have an identity of your own. How does it feel?

I will always be proud to be my father's daughter. But it is exciting when people compliment your work and the person you are.

Is success at a young age difficult to handle?

Fortunately, films and endorsements have kept me too busy to think about anything else.

An actor's success today is evaluated by the number of endorsements. You have already totted up three major brands — Dabur Fem, Dyna soap and Provogue.

I'm happy about getting to endorse good brands and I think this is the way forward.

You performed on stage at a film function. Are you okay with doing item songs?

I will do it if I like the song and if I am comfortable with the moves and the outfit.

What is your style statement?

My first film projected me as a small town girl who is always clad in Indian clothes. But in my forthcoming films, I will get to wear western outfits. In real life, I love to wear a pair of jeans and T-shirt. I am equally comfortable in a sari or an Anarkali kurta.

What is the maddest thing you have ever done?

I did fashion designing for three years and then became an actor.

You have worked with Salman and are now working with Akshay in “Joker”. Have you given either of them any fashion tips?

Both of them are style icons, so they don't need any help on that front. But I did the styling for Salman during a photo shoot.

Who do you think is a bigger style icon — Salman or Akshay?

I think Salman. Whatever he does or wears is followed by all.

Have you ever imitated anyone?

Sridevi!

Is your film with Kamal Haasan on?

Yes. It is an honour that he has chosen me to work with him. It will be wonderful to learn a new language.

Are you going to miss Abhinav on the sets of “Dabangg 2”?

Yes, he is a dear friend. I wish him all the luck. “Dabangg 2” is going to be directed by Arbaaz and I'm sure Arbaaz will do a good job.
