She was pretty much noticed for her lead role in Veer , more for her sharp resemblance to Katrina Kaif though. But she hasn't been under the spotlight in recent weeks. She seems to have stayed away from the media and the film industry as well. Meet Zarine Khan, recently spotted in Delhi at the launch of the evening wear brand Maira. Here Zarine interacted with the media and also talked about various aspects of her life. Excerpts from an interview:

What were the reasons for your being associated with Maira?

Well, I personally feel that the designers, Anand and Hena have done a wonderful job. Not only do I like the designs very much, but I also feel that the designs are, without a doubt, truly comparable with the international designs.

It has been long sinceVeerreleased. So are there any upcoming projects?

I cannot comment on most of my upcoming projects at present but, yes, there is an upcoming movie with Salman Khan. It is a contemporary movie and will be out by the end of this year. For the other upcoming ventures of mine, you would have to contact the production houses as I am bound by protocol not to talk about them.

What are the changes that have come into your life after the release ofVeer?

Veer indeed changed my life. It would not be an understatement if I say that my life has taken a 360-deegree turn. Earlier, life was very normal but now, things have drastically changed.

Quite often, people tag you as Katrina Kaif's lookalike. How do you react?

Well, for me to be compared to Katrina is a huge compliment in itself. I always take it positively. It was my grandmother who made such a remark for the first time. At that time, I was totally surprised since this kind of a remark was totally beyond my imagination.

You have had a dream debut opposite Salman Khan. Are there any other actors on your wish list?

Salman is a fantastic person to work with. He is a great guide and I have always been his fan. As for my own wish list, it would be a pleasure to work with everybody since they are so good and they have been in the industry for a long time. You will have to ask them whether they want to work with me or not?

What is your own fashion as well as fitness mantra?

For me, anything that is comfortable is fashionable. I am not brand-conscious and I don't believe in running after brands.. I have always been more into western wear. In the evening, a pair of jeans with a casual would do for me.

And as far as fitness is concerned, I pay a lot on attention to my eating habits. I feel that if one has a proper diet; it is more than enough to stay fit and healthy. There was a time when I was obese and it was from that point, that I decided to lose weight and get fit.
