Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, popularly known as meshtru, is all set for his new film, which is yet untitled.

The master narrator, will soon be off to London to choose the locales for his film, which features Gurunandan and Manvitha Harish in the lead.

Nagathihalli debuted with Undo Hoda Kondu Hoda as a director, which won the Karnataka State Film Award in the Best Story category. he also made a few films about NRIs like America America, which went on to be one of the most successful films in Kannada.

“The new film will be shot across England, with a few portions in Whales and Scotland,” beams the director, who reveals that the story for this film is written by his daughter, Kanasu, and is produced by YN Shankare Gowda.

Nagathihalli plans to start the shoot from July, with the first schedule in London.

Why foreign locales again?

“I have been successful with films which have an NRI connections— America America, Amrita Dhaare, Baanalle Madhu Chandrike. For thisfilm, I chose my daughter’s story because I liked it. We worked together and developed it into a film script. It will be a romantic film as I believe you cannot do anything without love. No matter how clichéd the topic may seem, it offers endless possibilities to explore. I believe it is like precious jewel for any film-maker.”

He adds that the film will be a love story between a British-born Kannada boy and a Kannada girl from Bengaluru. "How their love develops, the relationship between them, and the two countries, the political arguments will be handled in this film,” says the director, who plans to shoot half of the film in London and the other half here.

The aim, he adds, is not just to show the famous tourists spots in London on the screen. “There will not be the monotonous shots of Big Ben, Buckingham Palace or River Thames, but we aim to show the culture, and explore theNRI lifestyle there.”

Nagathihalli says his current trip to London will not only be to select locales , but to also choose a few foreigners to be a part of his new venture. He says Gurunandan and Manvitha are currently preparing themselves for their role. “They have to train to talk in British accent and look and be the part that they will portray," says Nagathihalli.

Looking at the passion with which he talks and the rigorous training he is putting his actors through, it sure seems like a film to look forward to.
