Bollywood megastar Salman Khan launched the teaser of Sivakarthikeyan’s next film Hero today morning, in what seems like an interesting attempt by Kollywood to delve into the superhero-vigilante genre.

Sivakarthikeyan plays the titular, masked ‘Hero’ who is instigated by Arjun Sara’s character (seemingly that of a genius mentor/ mad scientist) to take on Abhay Deol’s character, who controls the corrupt education system. Though the storyline seems inspired from several other films — one man’s fight against the system — the making and the production quality of the film has excited fans, eager to welcome something different.

Kalyani Priyadarshan also makes her Tamil debut in the film, with the role of a teacher. The movie is directed by PS Mithran, who earlier made Irumbu Thirai starring Vishal, Samantha and Arjun.

The movie has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by George C Williams, and editing by Ruben, and it slated for a December 20 release.
