Coinciding with Teachers’ Day on Wednesday, posters for the upcoming biopic on Super 30 coaching institute founder and mathematician Anand Kumar were released. The Hrithik Roshan-starrer will be released on January 25 next year.

“It is a movie not just on me, but on teachers in general who shape the nation’s future in their own way wherever they are. On Teachers’ Day, it is a tribute to all the teachers, as it is they who shape the nation’s destiny by preparing the next generation with education,” Anand Kumar told The Hindu after seeing the film posters.

The film is about how quality education is indispensable for ushering in real change in society through generational transformation and the pivotal role of a devoted teacher.

“I’m hopeful the powerful characterisation by Hrithik Roshan will drive home the larger issues effectively,” said Mr. Kumar.

In the posters, Hrithik Roshan sports a rugged and bearded look with the tagline, “ Ab Raja Ka Beta Raja Nahi Banega, Ab Raja Wohi Banega Jo Haqdaar Hoga (Now a king’s son will no longer be a king, only he will become king who deserves it)”. Vikas Bahl, famed for films such as Queen, Chillar Pary , is directing the film.

When asked about the film Super 30 , Mr. Kumar said, “The film had shaped up very well due to the hard work of Hrithik, director Vikas Bahl and many others involved with it. I am excited to see it on the big screen and hope people will like it, as it is about struggle of a teacher. It also touches the social issue that concern one and all — rich or poor — and underscores the power of education for true empowerment,” he added.

Mr. Kumar had started his Super 30 coaching institute in 2002 in Patna for underprivileged students aspiring to the crack JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs.), added: “Teaching has always been viewed as a revered profession and if the film could inspire today’s youth to take teaching as a profession to contribute to nation’s progress, it would be a great achievement.”

As many as 422 students from Super 30 have cracked the IIT-JEE since its inception. “Our scriptures talk about the joy of giving and there is nothing more joyous than giving education as its returns are immeasurable both for the teacher as well as the society. The film shows how childhood seeped in poverty got transformed with education to break barriers of caste, creed and class,” said Mr. Kumar.
