Nikki Galrani’s fashion statement
South Indian actor curates Onam collection for fashion brand
Nikki Galrani is a fashionista and her glam roles in South Indian cinema perhaps bear ample testimony. The actor, who shot to fame in tinseltown in the Nivin Pauly-starrer 1983, was in Thiruvananthapuram recently to launch the Onam collection of a leading fashion brand that the actor herself had curated.
Having studied fashion designing, the model-turned-actor says couture is an abiding passion of hers and it’s something she relished doing even before becoming a model. “I love colours and am interested in understanding how they fit into appealing patterns on a fabric. It has been especially exhilarating to capturing the vibrant spirit of a festival such as Onam,” says Nikki.
Having spent her fair share of time in Kerala shooting, the actor says she loves to celebrate Onam irrespective of where she is. “Onasadhya (feast) is perhaps something everyone who has had the experience of having it loves. I make it a point to have sadhya on Onam day even when I’m not in Kerala,” she says. Last seen in Mollywood in Team 5 alongside cricketer-turned-actor Sreesanth S, Nikki will be featuring in upcoming Ithihasa 2 and Omar Lulu-directed Dhamaka.
