At the 90th Academy Awards in Los Angeles on March 4, 2018 (early on March 5, 2018 for viewers in India), all stops are being pulled out to avoid last year’s embarrassment when the wrong Best Picture winner was announced. Actors Faye Dunaway and Warren Beaty received the wrong envelope, and they announced La La Land as the winner, instead of Moonlight. This year, other controversies have erupted following the sexual abuse allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, whom the Academy has suspended. Last year’s Best Actor Casey Affleck, who has settled harassment claims, is not attending.
