The third season of Bigg Boss Tamil has had no dearth of controversies as the show once again finds itself in hot water after the latest eviction of popular contestant Madhumitha. Madhumitha was shown the door last weekend for a supposed self-harm attempt after being bullied by other contestants.

Her eviction was handled with very little information made available to the public on what is being done to ensure the mental health of the contestants who find themselves confined and cut off from the world for three months. Meanwhile, social media has been rife with rumors on what transpired leading up to Madhumitha’s suicide attempt.

After her eviction, Vijay TV reportedly pursued legal action against the actor for allegedly contacting the executives of the channel with threats, if the payment owed to her for her appearance on the show was not settled in two days.

With a complaint having been lodged against her in Guindy, Madhumitha held a press meet to clear the air. She said that she was unaware of why the channel has chosen to make a frivolous complaint against her while she leveled no threat against them. She added that she had merely requested in writing that the money owed to her be paid.

At the press meet, Madhumitha said, “Vijay TV agreed to pay me the amount that was agreed upon. But it was shocking to me when I heard that they had filed a complaint against me. I haven’t got any calls from the police or any legal representative on this issue as well. When I got a number of calls yesterday asking me about this, I was totally ignorant about it.”

Madhumitha said that she had till date abided by the conditions set by the channel and that her conduct as an actor has been impeccable. She requested that the matter be settled amicably and called for the intervention of the host of the show actor Kamal Hassan in the matter.

Madhumitha also added that she had only been consulting with the doctors assigned by the channel, and had not sought any outside medical assistance.
