After wrapping up the shoot for her debut Telugu film Operation Gold Fish , Sasha Chettri, who shot in fame with the Airtel 4G TV campaign, is looking forward to a busy year ahead. The young actor has already been roped in for Prabhas’ next film where she will be seen playing a significant role along with Pooja Hegde.
While the shooting for the film is expected to commence soon, Sasha has also bagged a role in another untitled Telugu film where she will be playing the character of a firebrand journalist. “I am really looking forward to the film. It is female-centric film and we have already started shooting for it,” says Sasha, who was in Visakhapatnam recently for an event.
The Dehradun girl plays one of the character of a no-nonsense, happy-go-lucky girl in her debut film Operation Gold Fish , which is expected to release in January next year. “I am very excited about the film. The story is really substantial and each character plays a significant part in the film narrative,” she adds.
Speaking about her journey into the advertising and film industries, Sasha says: “As a child I was overly expressive. So the transition before camera was almost a natural process for me.”
Sasha studied advertising from Xavier’s Institute of Communications, Mumbai, and had a brief stint as a trainee copywriter.
Airtel 4G’s national television campaign changed her course of life and made a familiar face at every household. Sasha, who is a trained musician, also did a couple of theatre workshops in Mumbai and auditioned for a Bhojpuri TV series before she could bag her first Telugu film project.
It all began when a Telugu film director reached out to her for a film after seeing her pictures on social media.
While the film project never took off, it opened a door of opportunities for Sasha.
