Nandamuri Harikrishna, who passed away on Wednesday, had the similar baritone voice, the same regal presence and the aqualine nose of his father and legendary actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. Acting in a dozen odd movies, Nandamuri Harikrishna made his mark by scooping up a Nandi Award for the role of a family patriarch in Lahiri Lahiri Lo.
In Daana Veera Soora Karna (1977), where he essayed the role of Arjuna, his screen presence and dialogues were limited, but the audience were impressed with his presence. However, Harikrishna dropped off the radar of Telugu cinema as he began producing movies and managing finances of the movies being produced by the family.
His film career took a turn only in 2002 with his role as an elder brother in Sita Rama Raju with Akinneni Nagarjuna that put the spotlight on his acting, yet again.
His cinematic legacy is being carried on by his sons Kalyan Ram and NTR (Jr).
