I look at shooting schedules abroad as another opportunity to indulge in my biggest obsession — shoes. No matter where I go and how little time I get, I always make sure I buy a pair of shoes. I remember being crazy about shoes even as a child, and the obsession has only grown with age.
Besides a range of Jimmy Choos, Chanels and Christian Diors, my prized possessions also include a pair from Sophia Webster, two pairs from Giambattista Valli and a couple of pairs from a fun brand called United Nude. My heel height preferences are between five and seven inches, and I love wearing all kinds of designs — open toe, closed toe, ankle straps, boots... Although the seven-inch ones are a bit uncomfortable for long periods, they lend themselves well to cocktail gowns. Naturally, all my footwear is only for my social and personal appearances, and I never use it for film shoots.
I also make sure that my shoes are cleaned and stored well in a specially-designed, air-tight compartment in my wardrobe. Even if I wear some of these expensive pairs only occasionally, they have to be cared for; especially the leather and heels. Despite my schedule, I do tend to them lovingly, as shoes can be a source of comfort, and that’s essential to avoid fatigue.
