Govind Nihalani is gearing up for his next film. It will be a contemporary, social drama set in the backdrop of Mumbai.
“I am directing the film in Marathi, and it is not a political saga. The scripting, cast and credits are currently being worked on. I opted for Marathi cinema, as it offers ample scope to experiment. Current-day Marathi films are of high standard and encourage cinematic exploration,” he says.
The director, known for his pathbreaking films, is also excited about his first tryst with animation — Fly Kamlu Fly .
“I intend to release it this year. Ram Mohan, the father of Indian animation, inspired me to direct it. I’m eagerly waiting to see how children accept my creation.”
