‘’96’ music director Govind Vasantha teams up with Mani Ratnam

The filmmaker’s next production venture will have music by the 96 composer

Following the commercial success of the romantic-drama 96 , music composer Govind Vasantha has signed a project with filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s home production Madras Talkies. To be co-written by Mani Ratnam, the film will be directed by Dhana Sekaran. Announcing the news on his Instagram account, Govind Vasantha said, “With the man who brought Velunayakan and Anandan to life in front of us. Honoured to have signed up for a movie to be produced and co-written by The Mani Ratnam. Directed by Dhana Sekaran.”

Govind Vasantha is one of the founders of the popular musical band Thaikkudam Bridge, which has produced several independent albums. Govind Vasantha made his Tamil début as a composer in last year’s Solo , directed by Bejoy Nambiar. Recently, he was highly appreciated for his work in 96 , with the songs becoming huge hits and clicking with the audiences. On the work front, Govind Vasantha awaits the release of Seethakaathi starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead.
