With everyone holding off their most important titles for next year’s inevitable console reveals, this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo — E3 — at Los Angeles Convention Centre was pretty much filler — with the exception of a few surprises.

Are you as excited as we are for these immersive entertainers?

Project Scarlett and Halo Infinite

Does this mean that the new Xbox is going to be named Xbox Infinite? That’s just some wild speculation by us, because we’re still buzzing about Project Scarlett. Not much was shown of the new consoles, except for a description of its internals with AMD, an SSD that functions as RAM too and the promise of 8K gaming and no loading screens. The next Halo was revealed too, titled Infinite.

Nintendo’s incredible line-up

Nintendo’s Direct got off to a great start confusing Mario’s nemesis Bowser with Doug Bowser, the new President of Nintendo of America. The titles came flying in fast, with Luigi’s Mansion 3 looking incredibly spooky, the reveal of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the new Platinum game Astral Chain, the cute Link’s Awakening Remake, and while we were still trying to pull our jaws off the floor, Nintendo revealed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to the Switch.

To top that off, Nintendo revealed that they were working on a sequel to one of the greatest games on the planet — Breath of the Wild 2, and backed that up with a trailer.

Cyberpunk 2077

This ‘breathtaking’ game had gamers in a frenzy for the better part of the last decade... and CD Projekt Red did not disappoint. Okay, it did, with a cinematic trailer set in a fantastic realm, which paled in comparison to last year’s mind-blowing game-play footage.

Yet, they made up for it quickly with the appearance of an excited Keanu Reeves — starring as a legendary ‘rockerboy’ Johnny Silverhand — on stage to give out the April 16 2020 release date.

So mark your calendars, or Baba Yaga will come for you.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

A Star Wars game by Respawn Entertainment, the studio responsible for the Titanfall games, signs us up.

The gameplay reveal of Fallen Order was an exciting mix of Uncharted with light sabers, featuring an interesting lead character. Given Respawn’s track record, this is one game we’ve got our sights on.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Nothing sent goosebumps down our spines more than Final Fantasy VII Remake. Looking completely new and yet familiar with an exciting new battle system, combining real-time combat with the active time battle menu system.

However, the best part is the reveal of Tifa Lockhart and her fists of fury.

Elden Ring

A collaboration between Hidetaka Miyazaki (the mastermind behind the Dark Souls games) and George RR Martin (of Game Of Thrones fame), Elden Ring is set in a bleak and brutal Norse realm.

Not much is revealed in the cinematic trailer, but there will be a hero, able to attack with prosthetic arms and take on all manner of monsters.

Avengers

Developed by Crystal Dynamics, the new Avengers game has its own versions of Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor and Black Widow. A ‘games as a service’ title, Avengers has you sweep in with your team-mates to take out bad guys with a promise of new characters and content free down the line.

The game will feature a cast of veteran gaming voice actors, including Troy Baker, Nolan North, Laura Bailey, and more.

Watch Dogs: Legion

Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs series has always broken new ground in open-worlds and Legion lets you play as virtually anyone: from a club-bouncer to an assassin-hacker granny, your job is to recruit members for your resistance to take on the powers which lie in a dystopian London.

GhostWire: Tokyo

Tango Gameworks’ Ikumi Nakamura carved herself quite the fan following at the reveal of her game GhostWire: Tokyo. Set in neon-drenched Tokyo, the horror game sees the disappearance of humans and the appearance of hideous ghosts and one ninja ghost-buster.
