When you walk into SimSum Arts Gallery, be ready to turn into an art judge! The gallery is hosting a National Fine Arts Exhibition and competition showcasing 200 works of 55 artists from across the country. To create a foolproof method of evaluation, the works - divided into three age groups -will be judged by a panel of senior artists and also visitors.

“The gallery wants to provide a platform to help passionate and hobby artists to showcase their talent,” informs Dr Sumadhura, one of the twin sisters who launched the gallery in Kondapur (the other being Dr Sindhura). The selection process initiated three months ago invited artists to send works in different themes. “Visitors can appreciate the works and select five of the best works of an artist in the evaluation form given to them. We will also invite visitors to judge so that there is no bias,” she shares adding five of her students from the gallery will also be showing their works. The five-day exhibition will also have an award ceremony at the end and best works will be displayed even after the show. Interestingly, SimSum Arts Centre celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and the institute hopes to hold different kinds of exhibitions.
