West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee files her nomination for the Assembly elections in south Kolkata on Friday.

Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Friday filed her nomination papers for the 2016 West Bengal Assembly elections from Bhabanipur constituency in south Kolkata.

Accompanied by a large number of supporters, the West Bengal Chief Minister submitted her papers at the District Election Office in Alipore.

Later in the afternoon, Congress nominee and former Union Minister Deepa Dasmunsi and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s grandnephew Chandra Kumar Bose of the BJP filed their nomination papers for the constituency.

In the race from the high-profile constituency is a transgender, Bobby Halder, who has been fielded by the Lok Janshakti Party.
