The Election Commission gave green signal for conduct of elections to urban local bodies and Zilla and Mandal Praja Parishads.
The EC said it had no objection for holding election to the local bodies in the State after completion of polling for Lok Sabha elections on April 11. Replying to a letter addressed to it by Telangana State Election Commission, the EC, however, said the elections would be subject to the condition that the TSEC would declare the results only after the declaration Lok Sabha election results slated for May 23.
The EC wanted necessary steps to be initiated to ensure that there was no shortage of manpower and other requirements for the conduct of Lok Sabha elections because of the proposed elections to the urban local bodies and Zilla and Mandal parishads.
