A long, gruelling election season draws to a close as Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry goes to the polls today. Here are the top developments:
Tamil Nadu
- Tamil Nadu witnessed brisk polling with over 63.7 per cent voters exercising their franchise by 3 p.m.
- Following rains, polling hours in Cuddalore (coastal areas) Thanjavur (coastal areas) Dindigul (entire) Madurai (entire) Nagapattinam (entire) districts might be increased. We are considering; yet to take a decision: If need arises, will recommend it to Election Commission, says CEO Rajesh Lakhoni

Kerala
- Over 70.35 per cent polling recorded in Kerala till 5 p.m. A total of 140 constituencies are in the fray today.
- Heavy rains have been lashing many parts Kottayam, Ernakulam, Alappuzha and Idukki districts since Sunday night.

Puducherry
- Puducherry registers 80.17 per cent as of 5 p.m. A total of 30 constituencies are going to the poll.
- Heavy rains lash the city and voter turnout is affected. Polling has been stopped in many stations due to power failure.
