Punjab Congress president Capt. Amarinder Singh said on Thursday that he would order an investigation into SIT’s clean chit in the drug racket case allegedly involving Akali Minister Bikram Singh Majithia and put those guilty behind bars once he was elected to power. “Given the fact that Punjab had been ruined under the Badal rule, I need a two-thirds majority to make a difference and bring Punjab back on the path to progress,” he said in Amritsar. Capt. Amarinder said Navjot Singh Sidhu had joined the Congress without any preconditions and would be the star campaigner. He described himself as the “ex-cricketer’s wicket keeper”.
