Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla on Thursday indicated that the Election Commission of India took punitive action against an IAS officer for complying with its order on Bru refugees. Mizoram has been on the boil since October 29 when chief electoral officer S.B. Shaskank complained against Lalnunmawia Chuaungo, former Principal Secretary, Home, for “interfering in the electoral process.” Mr. Chuaungo was moved to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
