Mizoram’s chief electoral officer S.B. Shashank, who earned the wrath of the majority Mizos for transferring out Mizo IAS officer Lalnunmawia Chuaungo on charges of interfering with the electoral process, may be removed.

The Election Commission of India is also expected to allow only the Brus of Mizoram to cast their votes, departing from the earlier practice of sending electoral officers to conduct the polls in Bru refugee camps in adjoining Tripura.
