For Mizoram’s newest party, the symbol has turned out to be symbolic. The People’s Representation for Identity and Status of Mizoram was elated to receive the diamond as the party symbol not just because of the relevance of its shape to the party’s abbreviated form, PRISM. It also noted 14 triangles that formed the diamond and related it with as many Mizo tribes. In 1996, community elders had compressed more than 100 groups of Mizos into 14 tribes for better discipline and unity.
