The police have filed a complaint against the Tirpura Congress unit chief Pradyot Kishore Deb Burman for slapping a supporter of rival IPFT, who allegedly made an attempt to attack the convoy of his sister and party’s Lok Sabha candidate Pragya Deb Burman, an officer said.
A video showing Mr. Burman assaulting Mintu Debbarma inside a police station in Khowai district has gone viral. A notice would be sent to Mr. Burman in the next two or three days, asking him to appear for an interrogation, the police said. PTI
