After winding up the campaigning for the 14 constituencies that will go to the polls on April 18, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday maintained that there was no “chemistry” between the ruling coalition partners, Janata Dal (S) and Congress, in the State.
“This lack of chemistry, which has come in the way of [the coalition] earning the people’s trust or delivering good governance, is helping the BJP nationally as we are showcasing it as the Opposition’s national coalition model,” said P. Muralidhar Rao, BJP national general secretary in charge of Karnataka.
Taking exception to ‘Mahagathbandhan’ leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s remark that Jammu and Kashmir should have a separate Prime Minister, Mr. Rao urged Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to specify if its alliance with the Congress, which is part of the Mahagathbandhan, was for an India with or without Jammu and Kashmir. He also urged Congress president Rahul Gandhi to specify his stand on the matter.
Veteran leader and former External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna appealed to voters, particularly the urban ones, to exercise their franchise without fail.
