EzyMov, a wheelchair accessible taxi service launched in Goa recently, will provide free transport in Panaji for the Lok Sabha elections on April 23.
This transport facility has been provided by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer(CEO), Goa as part of accessible elections 2019. This is the first time that the Election Commission of India (ECI) is providing free transport facility for persons with disability(PwDs) and the elderly to enable them to travel to the polling station and cast their vote so as to ensure that no one is left behind. This will be possible due to the availability of EzyMov vehicles in the State.
“We at EzyMov are extremely pleased to offer our wheelchair taxi service on election day for our differently-abled brethren. I'm sure this facility will encourage them to exercise their franchise as a responsible and equal citizen of our country,” said Bennett DCunha, Founder of EzyMov, thanking CEO Kunal for his constant support in make voting accessible.
Avelino de Sa, the president of Disability Rights Association of Goa, welcomed this initiative.
