Mysuru Karnataka: 12-05-2018: Mysuru MP Pratap simha casting vote in Mysuru on May 12, 2018.

Distribution of booklets detailing MP for Mysuru Pratap Simha’s “achievements” during the last five years by the Department of Posts after the announcement of elections has kicked up a row, with a Congress leader accusing not only the BJP leader but also the Senior Superintendent of Posts in Mysuru of violating the model code of conduct.

Congress leader K.S. Shivaram, who is also president of the Karnataka State Backward Classes Federation, has lodged a complaint with Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru and District Election Officer Abhiram G. Sankar against the alleged misuse of the Department of Posts, functioning under the BJP-led Union government, by Mr. Simha to distribute 50,000 pamphlets to houses in the jurisdiction of 22 post offices in Mysuru.

While accusing the MP of misusing postmen and postwomen to deliver the booklets, Mr Shivaram also trained his guns on the Senior Superintendent of Posts for becoming a party to the process by issuing a warning letter to the delivery staff to ensure that the booklets were distributed to every house in their jurisdiction.
