Congress party candidates for Malkajgiri and Chevella parliamentary constituencies, A. Revanth Reddy and Konda Vishveshwar Reddy, respectively, have made a head start in electioneering by addressing party workers meetings and also meeting party leaders.

Mr. Revanth Reddy met Talangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president M. Kodandaram in the latter's residence and sought TJS support on Monday. He met Congress party leader K. Srisailam Goud of Qutbullapur Assembly constituency on Saturday and sought his cooperation. Mr. Reddy has also lined up meetings with party workers in all the seven Assembly segments falling in the Lok Sabha constituency.

Speaking at meeting at Medchal on Monday, Mr. Revanth Reddy said he had no intention to contest the Lok Sabha elections but several Congress legislators including P. Sabitha Indra Reddy (Maheshwaram) and D. Sudheer Reddy (L.B. Nagar) had asked me to enter the fray offering their support. However, the two had left the party for reasons better known to them.

Mr. Reddy said he would file his nomination papers on March 22 and hold party workers meeting at L.B. Nagar on Tuesday. On the TRS leadership's call to voters give the party 16 seats to steer politics at national level, he sought to know what did the party do for the last five years when it enjoyed the support of similar numbers directly or indirectly.

At a party workers' meeting in Chevella constituency, Mr. Vishveshwar Reddy alleged that TRS government is doing huge injustice to erstwhile Rangareddy district. He accused Ms. Sabitha Indra Reddy of damaging the party by still hanging on to it.

Meanwhile, speaking to reporters party MLC Md. Ali Shabbir said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is trying to mislead people again by speaking about floating a national party after shelving his federal front plans. He stated that Mr. Rao did not achieve any of the bifurcation promises made to the State as also the promises made to various sections after 2014.
