The Election Commission (EC) on Monday clarified that bypolls to the 18 Tamil Nadu Assembly constituencies would be held on April 18.
"The date of poll in respect of by-elections for 18 Assembly Constituencies of Tamil Nadu, as already scheduled for Phase 2 of the election, shall be read as April 18, 2019, instead of April 23, 2019," said the Commission.
In respect of the Anantnag parliamentary constituency in Jammu and Kashmir, the EC said the date of issue of notification, last date of filing nominations, scrutiny of nominations and last date for withdrawal of candidature, should be read as March 28, April 4, April 5 and April 8, respectively.
The dates of poll for Anantnag are April 23, April 29 and May 6.
