Lok Sabha Election 2019

BJP seeks arrest of BBMP councillor

Petitions EC

The Bharatiya Janata Party has petitioned the Election Commission of India seeking arrest of a few Congress leaders, including BBMP’s nominated member Amanulla Khan, accusing them of hatching a conspiracy to disturb peace on the day of the Lok Sabha poll in the Bengaluru North constituency.

A delegation of the BJP led by Union Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, who is seeking re-election from Bengaluru North, submitted a petition in which they alleged that the above leaders held a meeting in K.R. Puram recently to finalise their plans.

Mr. Gowda alleged that a video clip of their conversation had gone viral and submitted the same to the EC. He appealed to the EC to also file a case for alleged violation of poll code of conduct against them and ensure adequate security measures to prevent any attempt to disturb peace on polling day.
