If anybody refers to the Indian Army as “ Modijiki sena ” that person is “not only wrong but also a traitor,” Union Minister V.K Singh has said.
General Singh, a former Chief of Army Staff and the BJP’s sitting MP in Ghaziabad, was responding to a question by the BBC.
“Indian Army belongs to India, not to any political party,” said General Singh, adding that the armed forces were competent enough to remain away from politics. He also said that while it was alright for the BJP’s political workers to be called so, it was not so for the armed forces.
