The Shiromani Akali Dal on Tuesday announced that former Deputy Chief Minister and party president Sukhbir Singh Badal would contest as its Lok Sabha candidate from Punjab's Ferozepur.
Also, the party has decided to renominate sitting MP and Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal from Bathinda parliamentary seat. Akali Dal patron Parkash Singh Badal, told reporters in Muktsar about party's decision of fielding both the leaders.
The Congress has fielded Sher Singh Ghubaya, the sitting MP, who successfully contested the 2014 General Election as SAD candidate but later joined the Congress from Ferozepur. From Bathinda Congress has announced Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, MLA from Gidderbaha seat.
