West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said the BJP had “failed to honour” Lal Krishna Advani by not nominating in the Lok Sabha election. “This is my personal feeling,” said Ms Banerjee, who has previously worked under Mr. Advani. “He is a leader who is respected in the party and has been there from the beginning,” she said.
Ms. Banerjee is known to have a cordial relationship with Mr. Advani and has often referred to him as one of country’s “most sensible leaders.”
