Forty two complaints have been received from people on poll code violations through the cVigil app by the office of Chief Electoral Officer. All the complaints, except one, have been disposed of, said Sakthyvel, Deputy District Election Officer.

The Elections Department had received about 2,919 calls on the toll-free number 1950. Of them, about 2,909 were disposed of while the rest are being looked into.

Mr. Sakthyvel said that 193 polling stations in 160 locations in 115 villages have been identified as vulnerable. The local police and personnel from central paramilitary forces will be deployed in all these polling stations. Four persons have been detained under the Goondas Act while action has been taken against 499 persons under Sections 107 and 110 of CrPC.

Licenses for manufacturing explosives and possession and sale of fireworks in Puducherry has been suspended till the completion of elections. In addition, the explosive manufacturing units had been sealed, he added.
