A CPI(M) supporter was killed on Thursday when a country-made bomb hurled at a victory rally of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the Dharmadam constituency where CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Pinarayi Vijayan was elected.

The details of the incident are still sketchy, but the police said one person identified as Raveendran died in the bomb attack at Puthankandath near Pinarayi at around 4 p.m.

Four CPI(M) supporters were injured in the bomb attack. The CPI(M) alleged that the attack was carried out by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh workers.
