Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday night said that there was no wave of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country and BJP’s defeat in Delhi polls was imminent.

“I will not say how many seats Congress will win (in Delhi polls). But defeat of BJP is certain,” Azad told reporters here after being elected to Rajya Sabha from Jammu and Kashmir.

“The downfall of BJP has started from head that is Jammu and Kashmir and after that in Delhi. It will percolate down to the South. There was no Modi wave. It was artificial wave,” he added.

The former Union minister said there was no “Modi wave” and secular forces have won in the Rajya Sabha elections of Jammu and Kashmir.

“There is no Modi wave. This was artificial wave being created across the country,” Azad said. PTI
