Sena chief may attend Nitish’s swearing-in

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday said he was still pondering over whether or not to attend the swearing-in of JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar as Bihar Chief Minister.

“I am thinking about it. But I must tell you that I meet him whenever I go there or when he comes down to Mumbai,” said Mr. Thackeray. He was talking to the media on a day when the Sena’s candidate Rajendra Devalekar was chosen as mayor of the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation with the support of the BJP. BJP’s Vikram Tare was given the post of deputy mayor. “We decided to go with the BJP as we thought that the city’s development can speed up if we join hands,” he added. Commenting on a letter written by the BJP’s veteran leaders criticising the leadership of the ruling party, Mr. Thackeray said: “It was a letter bomb yesterday [Tuesday]. If there is an explosion, there will be chaos,” he added.
