An election flying squad on Saturday carried out a search at the office of S. Mohanraj, Makkal Needhi Maiam candidate for Aravakurichi Asssembly constituency, at Vaiyapuri Nagar on Karur-Coimbatore road.
The search, based on a complaint, was conducted on the eve of Sunday’s byelection.
During the one-hour search operation, the team is said to have checked drawers and cupboards in the office of Mr. Mohanraj, who is a stakeholder in a few educational institutions. But, the squad did not find any cash or incriminating documents.
