Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy greets the people at the public meeting at Orvakal in Kurnool on Monday.

YSR Congress Party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday assured people that he would stand by every family in the State.

At his first election meeting in the Rayalaseema region, Mr. Jagan, departing from the usual practice of highlighting the “failures’’ of the Chandrababu Naidu government, unveiled the roadmap of the YSRCP in the event of its coming to power. He said that during the ‘padayatra,’ he had interacted with farmers, women, and students who poured out their woes before him.

Input subsidies would be increased and minimum support price for farm produce would be raised to make the activity viable.

He said the emergence of belt shops had emerged as a major problem in many villages and women were afraid to venture out of their houses, adding they would be as soon as his government came to power.

The Opposition leader said DWCRA said women would get interest-free loans, and their loans would be waived in four phases.

‘Manifesto soon’

“Though they are several vacancies, the government is not releasing notifications to fill them,” alleged Mr. Jagan, adding that the situation would be rectified as soon as the YSRCP took over the reins.

He said the party would unveil its manifesto soon.

‘Media hype’

At an election meeting at Rayadurg in Anantapur district, Mr. Jagan said: “We are fighting with newspapers and channels that are supportive of Mr. Naidu, they are propagating all wrong things about us and creating a hype about his so-called achievements.”

The YSRCP chief said he would put his signature on the first 100 promises soon after becoming Chief Minister.

The TDP had made 650 promises in 2014, but not one had been fulfilled, he alleged.

Mr. Jagan introduced all the party candidates in the Anantapur parliamentary constituency to the gathering.

Charge against Naidu

Addressing a public meeting at Rayachoti in Kadapa district, Mr. Jagan accused N. Chandrababu Naidu of “eliminating” his uncle Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy to demoralise him ahead of the elections. Mr. Jagan alleged that the ghastly murder happened under ‘his’ supervision, which was being investigated by ‘his’ police, while ‘his’ media was spreading canards against him and his family.

Appealing to the voters not to get lured by the short-term benefits and sops showered by the TDP, Mr. Jagan advised the voters to wait for him to come to power to provide real benefits like the ‘Nava Ratnas’. He spread the message ‘I am with you’ all through the meeting.

Turning his attention to women voters, he appealed to them not to get carried away by Mr. Naidu’s promise of ₹3,000, but support a leader who would stand by them in times of crises.
