In “Naukri Hiring Outlook Survey 2022”, 57% of the recruiters have indicated that there would be both new and replacement hiring in their organisations in the coming months till June 2022.
When this outlook is juxtaposed against the hiring sentiment (51%) from last year’s edition of the Survey, it shows that many industries are on the mend and the job market is clambering back to normality.
The Survey notes that 62% of the recruiters expect hiring to go back to pre-COVID levels in their organisations by June 2022.
Naukri Hiring Outlook Survey 2022 sought the views of 1879 recruiters and consultants representing over 10 major sectors.
According to the Survey, the demand for technology-enabled skills is witnessing a consistent uptick.
As per the Survey, the top functional areas in which active hiring is expected in the coming months are: IT (59%), Business Development (43%), and Marketing (36%). From the standpoint of experience, recruiters foresee maximum hiring to take place for the experience band of 3-5 years (67%), followed by 1-3 years (53% ), and 5-8 years (53%).
The other significant findings are:
High attrition rate
Recruiters expect attrition to rise further in the coming months, an indication that the job market is emerging out of its shell. The Survey notes that attrition rate would be highest among employees in the experience bracket of 3-5 years (51%), followed by 1-3 years (45%).
Given the continued surge in demand for IT roles, recruiters expect this sector to witness a high employee fallout rate of 49%. The number of recruiters anticipating an attrition rate greater than 20% grew up by 33% when compared with the survey conducted last year.
Rise in increments
The Survey notes that recruiters planning to roll out increments greater than 30% in their respective organisations have grown substantially by 60% in comparison to the previous outlook survey conducted in July 2021. At the same time, the number of recruiters foreseeing an increment below 10% reduced from 37% to 33%.
Campus hiring up
Campus hiring is showing signs of improvement with 47% recruiters confirming that they are going ahead with the placements in the next few months. From last year’s survey, a majority of recruiters had put campus hiring on hold.
New work plans
Indian companies are gearing up to start work-from-office routines for their employees with 41% of the respondents confirming the same, which marks a significant increase of 10% when compared with the previous year’s survey for the period July-Dec 2021. The Survey found that 42% of the recruiters believe that work from home is equally productive as working in office. Around 14% of the respondents have said they would be back to office with a restricted team size.
