Liverpool fail to make the most of Man City’s slip

A victory for Liverpool on Wednesday would have given them a seven-point advantage at the top of the Premier League after Manchester City slipped to a 2-1 defeat on Tuesday against Newcastle.

Liverpool, however, were held to a 1-1 draw by Leicester City, meaning that their lead is now only five points.

Tottenham Hotspur closed in on City as their 2-1 win over Watford left them just two points behind City in third place.

Chelsea, meanwhile, were humiliated by Bournemouth as they were defeated 4-0. The defeat saw them slip to fifth place in the table, behind Arsenal on goals scored.
