The Magic Faraway Tree Series by Enid Blyton

The stories take place in an enchanted forest where a gigantic magical tree grows — the “Faraway Tree”. The tree is so tall that its topmost branches reach into the clouds and it is wide enough to contain small houses in its trunk. The forest and the tree are discovered by three children — Jo, Fanny and Bessie — who move into a house nearby. They have adventures on the tree. When they climb it, they discover that it is inhabited by magical people, including Moon-Face, Silky the fairy, Saucepan Man, Dame Washalot, Mr. Watzisname and the Angry Pixie among others.

They befriend the magical folk, and also learn that at the very top of the tree, is a ladder which leads them to fascinating lands that are constantly changing. Across the four books in the series, the kids get a whiff of some exciting lands where they have great adventures — the Land of Birthdays, the Land of Goodies, the Land of Take-What-You-Want, and the Land of Do-As-You-Please, and more.

The Secret No-Girls Club (Kids in the Treehouse, #1), by Rachel Elizabeth Cole

There are multiple things you can do if you have a tree house: hold midnight feasts, hide from your parents when in trouble, and even catch a little nap every once in a while. But more than anything else, once you have a tree house, you are probably going to want to start a club. After all, what better place to have club meetings and conduct important club business than a secret place in the trees, where, once you pull up the ladder, no one can bother you?

Best friends, Logan and Caleb, do exactly this. They start a club with no girls. They draft the rules, decide on a secret handshake, and even compose a pledge. But who will get to be the president of this uber cool, prestigious club? After all, you can’t vote for a president when there are only two members. They are going to need some help... perhaps Caleb’s little brother ... or even Logan’s twin sister?

The 13-Story Treehouse (Treehouse Books Series #1) by Andy Griffiths

Andy and Terry live in a treehouse. But it’s not just any old treehouse, it’s the most amazing treehouse in the world — it has 13 stories, a bowling alley, a see-through swimming pool, a secret underground laboratory, a giant catapult, and a marshmallow machine that follows you around, and automatically shoots marshmallows into your mouth whenever you are hungry.

Life would be perfect for Andy and Terry if it wasn’t for the fact that they have to write their next book, which is almost impossible, because there are just so many distractions, including 13 flying cats, giant bananas, mermaids, sea monsters pretending to be mermaids, and enormous gorillas. Join Andy and Terry in their crazy adventures, as they attempt to write a book. Just make sure, you don’t get trapped in their burp-gas-filled bubble!

Magic Tree House #1: Dinosaurs Before Dark by Mary Pope Osborne

The Magic Tree House is a series of children’s books in two groups. In books 1-28, Jack and Annie Smith, siblings from the fictional small town of Frog Creek, Pennsylvania, go on numerous adventures and missions with a magical tree house. The second group, the Magic Tree House “Merlin Missions,” see the duo on quests from the ancient wizard Merlin the Magician.

In the first in the series, Dinosaurs Before Dark, Jack and Annie are puzzled about where the tree house came from. But before they can find out, the mysterious tree house whisks them to a prehistoric era. Using magical books, they unwittingly travel back in time —65 million years ago, to be precise — to the Cretaceous era where they encounter a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Will they be able to escape the monster and return to their present?
