With both sides registering 2-1 victories in the midweek fixture, Monaco stayed three ahead of defending champions Paris Saint-Germain in the Ligue 1.

While Monaco had to withstand a late onslaught from Montpellier after having gone a man down, PSG were lucky to come out with three points against Lille as Lucas’ winner was scored from an offside position.

Edin Dzeko moved top of the Serie A goalscoring charts on 17 goals, his brace ensuring that Roma had a comfortable 4-0 win against Fiorentina.
