But Olivier Giroud sparked the visitors’ come back, providing the assist for Alexis Sanchez and Lucas Perez, before heading home the equaliser in extra time.

Richard Gasquet and Kristina Mladenovic overcame sweltering conditions to get the better of Britain’s duo Dan Evans and Heather Watson. Their 3-0 win against the Brits gets them closer to a spot in the final of the Hopman Cup.
