TVS Motor to invest £100 million in Norton Motorcycles

TVS Motor Company, a leading manufacturer of two-and-three wheelers globally, announced an investment of £100 million in the U.K.-based Norton Motorcycles.

The announcement, which was made by the company on the sidelines of U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson visit to India, is expected to create 250-300 direct jobs over the next three years and 500-800 indirect jobs across the supply chain, it said in a statement.

Also, the funding will lead to the imminent introduction of a re-engineered V4 SV and 961 Commando motorcycles among other products, the company said.

Norton Motorcycles is the Britain's iconic sporting motorcycle brand, which was acquired in April 2020. Recently. Norton opened a new manufacturing facility in Solihull, West Midlands.

“This investment will be towards electrification, cutting edge technology, world-class vehicles, manufacturing, sustainability and future of mobility,” said Sudarshan Venu, JMD, TVS Motor Company.
