PepsiCo expands portfolio to enter ready-to-drink milk

More flavours in Quaker oats+milk will be rolled out soon

Cola major PepsiCo India Holdings Pvt. Ltd. has expanded the portfolio of its Quaker Oats by entering into ready-to-drink milk segment.

“We are rolling out of Quaker Oats+Milk in two flavours — almond and mango from Tamil Nadu,” said Deepika Warrier, vice- president (nutrition) PepsiCo India. “It is a unique innovation from PepsiCo that is scientifically developed to help meet the daily nutritional needs of time-pressed millennials and young people,” she said.

According to her, Pepisco’s grain dairy beverage Quaker Oats+Milk was co-created by cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. The beverage has a unique combination of oats, fibre and milk. Currently, the beverage will be available in two flavours – almond and mango – and is priced at ₹30 for a 180 ml tetra pack.

PepisCo is likely to unveil more flavours in the coming months.

“Local innovation is the backbone of our expanding nutrition portfolio with products that aim to redefine the nutrition category whilst offering healthier options to complement the rushed lifestyle of our consumers,” D. Shivakumar, chairman, PepsiCo India, said in a press release.

“Entering the fast-growing value added dairy segment in India with a truly differentiated offering from Quaker is part of our growth strategy for this market,” said Mr. Shivakumar.

Tropicana Essentials

In the last two , Pepsi had introduced Quaker Nutri Foods (breakfast serials) and Tropicana Essentials to increase its share in the breakfast cereal market in India, Ms. Warrier said. Another variants in Tropicana Essentials (iron) would be unveiled soon, she added.
