Oil companies hike petrol, diesel prices

State-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) have increased the price of petrol by up to 14 paisa per litre and price of diesel by up to 16 paisa per litre with effect from Tuesday morning in the four metros, according to data from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).

The prices may go up to ₹5 per litre each for petrol and diesel in the coming fortnight if global crude oil prices stay at the current levels. The price of petrol has been increased by 14 paisa per litre in New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, and by 13 paisa per litre in Kolkata.

Diesel price has been increased by 15 paisa per litre in New Delhi and Kolkata and 16 paisa per litre in Chennai and Mumbai.
