NIIT Ltd., an education and training company, will train 20,000 youth from the south in three years in the areas of IT, banking and financial services and insurance (BFSI) under Talent Pipeline as a Service (TPaaS), said a top official.

“The pilot phase, started some nine months back, is over,” said Sapnesh Lalla, chief executive officer, NIIT Ltd. “This is part of our programme to train one lakh youth in three years for aspirational career opportunities in leading corporates.”

In the last nine months, NIIT had tied-up with 10 corporates and trained about 4,000 youth globally. Mr. Lalla exuded confidence that they would be able to train one lakh youth in three years through this initiative.

He said the course duration ranged between three weeks and four months.

“TPaaS is our attempt to identify and groom the best Just-in-Time job-ready talent for the emerging roles in organisations, to keep pace with today’s fast changing and uncertain business environment.

“Leading banks, BFSI companies and tier-I IT services companies will be serviced under this initiative during the initial phase. Students opting for career under TPaaS are assured of placement with leading corporates on the successful completion of the programme,” he said.
