New generation SUV from Hyundai

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), on Wednesday, launched its new generation sports utility vehicle Sante Fe on the inaugural day of the Delhi Auto Expo here.

The vehicle, which is powered by a 2.2-litre engine, will come in three variants, priced at Rs.26.30 lakh, Rs.27.10 lakh and Rs.29.20 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), respectively.

“The third generation Sante Fe is a world-class product, and will set a new benchmark in India’s SUV segment,” HMIL Managing Director and CEO B. S. Seo said.

Talking to The Hindu on the sidelines of the expo, company Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Rakesh Srivastava said, “The year 2013 was the most challenging year for the Indian auto sector. We expect the year 2014 too will be a challenging one for the industry.”
