Mercedes-Benz rolls out the new E-Class sedan in India

Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the all new E-Class luxury sedan in the Indian market at a starting price of ₹56.15 lakh for the E200 petrol version and ₹69.47 lakh for the E 350d diesel version ex-showroom Mumbai.

“This luxury sedan is Made in India and for India,” said Roland Folger, managing director and chief executive officer, Mercedes-Benz India.

“The new E-Class with a rich history spanning 21 years with around 34,000 units on Indian roads, remains an important product in our portfolio. Considering that majority of E-class customers are chauffer driven, we decided to introduce the new E-Class with a long wheelbase. This will create a new benchmark in the luxury executive segment.”

It took almost 48 months for the company to develop this 10th generation E-Class sedan from scratch. This is for the first time that a right hand drive long wheelbase version of the sedan has been introduced in India.

To make the purchase more attractive, Mercedes-Benz has introduced a competitive service package that starts at Rs 64,700 for two years for the petrol version and Rs 94,000 for the diesel variant for two years.

These new standard packages are offered with unlimited mileage covering maintenance related jobs. “This is a first in the luxury car segment. These customer focused packages offering various options and flexibility can last upto 10 years from the date of sale, for a hassle free ownership experience,” the company said.

The E-Class sedan is India’s highest selling luxury sedan. It comprises of 34% of the total Mercedes-Benz cars sold in India. With over 13 million units sold globally, The e-Class sedan and the Estate are the best selling vehicles for Mercedes-Benz.
