Univariety: Variety to the fore

Univariety’s flexible interiors ensures something for everyone

It’s not often that you see a firm’s interiors cater to its target audience as well as its employee base. Being in the edu-tech space, Univariety’s workspace at Banjara Hills has undergone various transformations over a five-year span. The contemporary vibe of their interiors is also attributed to their work surrounding the youth, including alumni networks across schools, colleges, employing a counsellor base to deal with issues of students.

Univariety at Banjara Hills packages a lot within its compact space — the smaller embellishments aren’t for face value alone, they enhance an employee’s attitude towards work. The choice to not seclude the lounge area from the workspace surprises. It’s their attempt to give a client a peek into how they work. That their strength lies within the tech space is evident from their video-conferencing enabled meeting rooms.

Various shades of green, yellow and grey form the backdrop of Univariety. The workspace also greets you with a recording studio where a lot of in-house video content for their websites and clients are produced. The walls, even in the pantry and restrooms sport witty quotes; clearly they believe that ideas can come anywhere. A new recruit at Univariety has his/her workstation decked up with balloons and tokens from their colleagues.

Here, there are many alternatives to your regular workstation. The raised platforms and ideation rooms comprise flexible furniture to seat employees at various levels — a sofa, a stool, a bean bag, a chair and sometimes even by the floor. The exam pads pinned to the walls function as notice boards, doffing their hat to the education sector. A green-cover at every corner of the workspace reminds the team of constantly nurturing something to yield best results.

A CEO’s cabin is often a reflection of what a company stands for. Here, the kryptonite-themed cupboards, the Buddha elements and quirky artworks do the talking. “The ideation room and the green cover are our calming elements. They allow us to sit, ponder and ideate. We don’t mind staying for longer hours at work for a change,” aver Avishek Datta Ray and Raja Satish of Univariety. This design and renovation for the firm was carried out by Brintext/Decor Anthem, a city based interior design agency, run by Sahiba Wadhwa and Konark Wadhwa.
